– Per WP:COMMONNAME. The suggested names seem to be the most common variants of the name, and are used in reliable English-language publications such as The Cambridge History of Scandinavia. Individual justifications:

  • This Ngram illustrates the shift from Canute Ericson to Knut Eriksson in literature. See also the search results for Knut Eriksson.
  • "Erik Knutsson" gives much higher quality results when compared to results for Eric X/Erik X (and for the latter the results are often of the form "Erik (X) Knutsson", with or without parentheses)
  • For Knut Långe or Knut the Tall or Knut Holmgersson there is no single overwhelmingly common name in literature. I'd prefer to avoid the patronymic here, as according to the Riksarkivet Bio the identification of the King Knut Långe with "Knut Holmgersson" is uncertain. I am suggesting the Swedish cognomen instead of the translated one because it seems more common in reliable English-language sources.
