About the two tags I placed on the article:

The tone or style of this article or section may not be appropriate for Wikipedia. This tag is a reaction to the use of informal, slangy language. "Herky-bird" is not appropriate to an encyclopedia article; neither is "naughty business". (I'm not even sure what "naughty business" means in this context.)

This article needs additional citations for verification. The article currently cites only one source. It is clearly not the only source that was used in compiling the article, as it does not support most of the statements made in the article. (By this, I mean only that it is silent on those points, not that it contradicts the article; but this is still a problem.) In the interests of verifiability, we need to know what the sources of the remaining information were.

In particular, it would be good to have citations supporting the claims of Olausson's significance. Who says that "Olausson's efforts have contributed a valuable resource to the Hercules community"? Did they say so anywhere that we could verify that they said it? --Paul A 13:25, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gentlemen - I am the author of the Olausson article. It is based on 25 editions of the Production List, which I have proudly contributed to since 1976, arguably THE authority on Hercules production, as Lock-Mart contributes much data. Lars Olausson's efforts (late of the F 7 Wing, C-130 Squadron, Såtenäs, Sweden) provide the only comprehensive list of ALL Hercules in service. If I have been expansive, or too general in my statement that Lt. Col. Olausson's efforts are to all our benefit, I apologize. I never could have built the C-130 attrition list without this source.
