Adi Laufitu MalaniLaufitu Malani – Shorter and unambiguous name, dropping the honorific Adi. I see that User:Saqiwa previously moved this page from that title, with the stated reason "to be consistent", but it appears no other pages for people using this honorific (or at least linking to Adi) use the honorific in the article title. Alex Cohn. As discussed in my talk page, I am not in favour of the requested move due to the obvious distortion link through the vague 1 sentence in the newly created Laufitu article that Adi Laufitu Malani of Ra and Laufitu of Totya are related, which is not correct as they are only related through marriage through Adi Laufitu Malani- father's (Ratu Meli Salabogi and brother Ratu Wilisoni Tuiketei Malani) maternal lineage side. Refer to my talk page. Saqiwa (talk) 10:17, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Saqiwa: If you don't feel that sentence belongs in the Laufitu article, take it up on that article's talk page or just be bold and remove it yourself - it's unsourced speculation. (Though I would hesitate to call something added in 2012 "recent"!) I admittedly know next to nothing about Tongan or Fijian history, and I'm just seeking consistency here - can you explain why the title "Adi" does belong in this article's title, and why it doesn't belong in any other article's title? --Alex Cohn (let's chat!) 17:13, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex Cohn: I think the guidelines that are probably most related to this are WP:COMMONNAME and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (royalty and nobility). In principle, article titles aren't prefixed with hereditary titles like "king", "queen", etc., but there seem to be various exceptions made. Whether this should be one of them is what should be discussed. Comments relevant to this discussion should be made here so that everything is in one place; so, Saqiwa you should make your comments here, not on your user talk page, and your comments should be based on relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines as much as possible. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:01, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex Cohn: Ok, I have removed the unsourced sentence from Laufitu. Please, also go ahead and move the article to Laufitu Malani. Saqiwa (talk) 03:31, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex Cohn: As raised above by Marchjuly, please also move the article on Ratu Wilisoni Tuiketei Malani to Wilisoni Tuiketei Malani.Saqiwa (talk) 03:42, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Saqiwa, done. Thanks for your input here. Alex Cohn (let's chat!) 17:38, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
