Perhaps you guys should discuss the reasons why you keep changing the article instead of just altering it and giving only a few words of justification...just a suggestion =) Small5th05:20, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
She is a lot of things that have nothing to do with her notability; for example, she is married to a guy named Curt Kaplan and has a son with him. This information isn't even in the article, much less in the header. If I put in "Lauren Tom is an American actress who is married to Curt Kaplan", that's going to be more informative in the sense that what HongQiGong is doing is informative, but it's going to be silly, look ridiculous, and pointlessly breach WP:MOSBIO. We're not going to go around deterring from MOSBIO so one user can get his kicks. Mad Jack05:57, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm with "Mad Jack" on this one, there's a manual of style for a reason and unless there is a good reason not to follow it then we should use it. Also, her Chinese ancestry is mentioned in the second line, it's not like it's been completely deleted or banished to some footnote. Also, I happen to prefer the wording in his version. When expanding the article I chose not to mention her "Chinese American" status in the intro because under "early life" there's a mention of her being subjected to teasing because of her Chinese heritage. It wouldn't be sensible to note her being Chinese American twice, especially since the current way reads better and is just as informative. Chickenmonkey21:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't change any of the substance of the article, but I did go ahead and remove some excess words, and try to clean up the language a bit. Nothing major. Kjdamrau17:42, 25 July 2007 (UTC)kjdamrau[reply]
