The "origin" of the given name would be the locus of the transition from Lee (English surname) to given name. Of course the surname originates in an Old English toponym, but this has little to do with the given name (nobody ever decided to name their child "meadow", they rather decided to name their child after general Lee). Since the surname already has its own dedicated page, it should be enough to link there for further information.
The claim that "Lee" is a "Hebrew" given name is completely unsubstantiated. It is true that li may be a prefix or suffix in a variety of Hebrew names, meaning "to me", but this doesn't mean that li on its own is a given name. Would need substantiation. --dab (đł) 08:59, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
