Asteraceae
[edit]"plants in the family Asteraceae, such as Gentiana corymbifera (snow gentian), Raoulia, and some of the white flowered hebes such as Hebe subalpina".
It's not clear what this is trying to say, but among these only Raoulia is asteraceous. The citation to T.E.R.R.A.I.N also looks problematical, both in being circular (it cites Wikipedia) and in not supporting the statement. (Perhaps the reference should be to an older version, via archive.org.) Lavateraguy (talk) 12:38, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
- I see that the reference has already been improved but I've now also copy edited the above sentence in the article for clarity. Ambrosia10 (talk)
Quinn
[edit]I've had a look who "R. Quinn" is. Turns out the initial is wrong. It came from this Wikidata entry, which in turn had it from this Tandfonline entry. The full version of the paper is available via the Wayback Machine and it shows "P. Quinn" from Tekapo as the author. And yes, that person appears in several sources (e.g. DOC) as Pat Quinn and one reference shows P. J. Quinn. It's all referenced here, including the gender (male).
Confusingly, there is a New Zealand book called "Bumble bee" written by Pat Quinn. Different person, though! She is a children's book author; Christchurch City Libraries has an interview on its website. Schwede66 10:35, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
