Still Alive?
[edit]Is there any evidence that he's still alive, or even made it to his 100th birthday? I know this is original research, but the SSDI lists two Lenoard Blumenthal's deceased and born in 1901. One died in 1967 and the other in 1984. This site claims that he had a doctoral student in 1970, so the first one can probably be excluded, but what about the one who died in 1984? Obviously OR, but does anyone have any proof that he made it to 100? Cheers, CP 23:36, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- This site lists that he taught until 2007. It is from the U of Missouri's own website.
I thought it was also intresting that This page talks about an award "to honor the memory" of Leonard Blumenthal. It's from the same website. --Npnunda (talk) 23:52, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- Wow! You've totally just proved that he's deceased: the second link is a professorship made in his honour (hence, he is deceased) and the first link is the CV of one of the professors who held the chair for five years (until 2007), not Blumenthal himself. It's not Blumenthal who taught until 2007, but this Kolobsky fellow. So now that we know that he's deceased from a reputable source, the SSDI search mentioned above can be used in the article - given that the second 1901 Leonard Blumenthal died in August 1984 (way beyond his last noted activity) and that he died in Missouri, I think it's a definite match. Therefore, we can say that Blumenthal is deceased, and that he died long before he became a centenarian. Well researched Npnuda! Cheers, CP 03:05, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
