The Title and More
[edit]Just a note to point out that the title of this film when it first aired in the UK was Life Story.
The title of Race for the Double Helix came when it was aired on the A&E network in the late 80's in the US. Yes, this is the old A&E of quality progamming and not the 'Son of Court TV' that it has become today (sorry POV I know). It was very popular and seemed to play monthly and, from time-to-time, weekly at one point. Now I am not proposing that we move this page - although if someone wanted to do so I would be all for it and would offer my help in fixing redirects if needed - but I did feel that it was important to note this here on the discussion page.
One other note, as stated in the article, Peter Howell's music was an important part of the film. The tune that may be most memorable for some is the song that played as Crick and Watson show off their completed model towards the end of the film and again over the closing credits. It is an adaptation of a song by Georges Delerue entitled "the Grand Chorale' and it was heard in the film by François Truffaut entitled La Nuit américaine (Day for Night). See this note [1] for the work put in to discover this fact.
My thanks to the wikipedians who worked on this article as this is a special film (more POV) and needed a wikipage of its own (now if we could just get someone to get a page for Alan Howard going). MarnetteD | Talk 01:55, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Since I posted the first note I have learned that wikipolicy is to name articles about film (theater or TV) by the title that they aired under in their initial showing so I am moving this page tonight and I will also fix all of the redirects that ensue.MarnetteD | Talk 00:38, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was unable to complete this move so I have set up a move request at the required page please add your thoughts to the discussion. Obviously I Approve the requested move. MarnetteD | Talk 01:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
