Does Lilium orientalis exist?

[edit]

I can find no trace in the literature available to me of a validly published Lily species called 'orientalis'. Is there a reference for this or is it just a hybrid masquerading under a name derived from the hybrid group? If the latter, then the article should be renamed to Lilium Stargazer. OK, I'm reasonably certain that this is an Oriental hybrid, have re-written the article accordingly. The taxobox is appropriate to a species, so I've removed that; it is copied below.

Stargazer Lily

[edit]

The stargazer is a beautiful flower and plant, it is related to the lilly and has a wonderful aroma.

Height

[edit]

The article states that they can grow up to 36 inches (should be in metres, by the way), but I have some at my cabin which are at least twice as high. However, I don't have time to look for a more reliable source. Help, please?! CielProfond (talk) 02:53, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
