I changed the first line of the section beginning "Singh garnered controversy for her remarks on turbans" to "Born to Sikh parents and raised Sikh herself, Singh nevertheless garnered controversy for her remarks on turbans" This was reverted by a user (presumably some kind of admin?) called "Meters" with the edit summary "what does that have to do with it?" (if you're asking a question, I suggest using talk pages, since that's... why they exist). I should think "what it has to do with it" is quite obvious! The fact that she was making an observation (subsequently judged by others, and admitted by her, to be understandably perceived to be in poor taste) about HER OWN CULTURE is quite different from her making an observation about a culture to which she is not connected. The context provided by the extra words served to clarify that she wasn't being "racist" or prejudicial by virtue of the fact that she, and her parents, and her sister (whose YouTube channel shows her children, wearing turbans), are themselves Sikh. The current wording exacerbates the entire situation by not providing sufficient context. I don't really care that much, but given the snarky edit summary I thought it worthwhile to clarify since people here are, bless them, quite evidently rather easily confused. 78.145.163.198 (talk) 22:53, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This article is top heavy with marketing-speak adulation and promotional text. It could have, and might well have, been written by Ms Singh's publicist or similar. 74.104.130.145 (talk) 06:00, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
