http://www.gbrathletics.com/uk/gbnatrec.htm lists all national records and best performances. Anyone is welcome to cite this as a reference.

Historical Progression

[edit]

This article shows what the record currently is, but is there a page that shows what the record was, a historical development of the record in each event?

For example, is there an article British records in athletics - men's 100m; is there a requirement for such an article and does it already exist under some other name? Cottonshirt (talk) 03:39, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't Clitheroe break the steeplechase record with 9:29.14 in Beijing 2008...?

All the best,

Dear user, you are absolutely right: Clitheroe broke the national record indeed! We forgot to adapt the list on this point. We'll repair this omission asap. Thanks a lot for reminding us. Regards,--Piet.Wijker (talk) 21:26, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"timing by photo-electric cell"

[edit]

What does this mean, and why is it significant enough to get a footnote? Surely there's no doubt as to the accuracy of Coe's record.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 01:45, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

National record 20 km + half marathon men

[edit]

According to this source [1] the half marathon result mentioned in this article is not an official record due to the gradient of race. The same would apply to the en route 20 km record. HarryPetersen (talk) 20:04, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dwain Chambers

Why is this 100m record on the list when it was annulled due to a doping violation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.26.150.121 (talk) 18:57, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Portsmouth UK not USA

[edit]

Portsmouth UK was the place of Eilish McColgan road 10 miles record, the citation is ok but the article incorrectly gives USA at the moment (10-Aug-2024) 147.161.224.177 (talk) 20:31, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
