Confusion over Carol's Spouse

Mark also has an estranged daughter, Carol Sloan Hilton (Stacy Van Dyke), a nurse, who lives in Northern California. She later married Yvette Fahd and she changed her last name so her new name is Carol Sloan Fahd. She and her husband were murdered in the Diagnosis Murder TV movie "A Town Without Pity". But her father and brother, Steve, help bring their murderers to justice.

This section asserts that Carol married a person named Yvette (which appears to be an exclusively female name), but then says "She and her husband were murdered." I can't tell if this is saying that Yvette is a guy, or that Carol had a different husband (at the same time (poly relationship) or subsequently (after divorce)), or that the murder victim was not Carol but Yvette (where Yvette also had a husband, yet had married Carol). It's a quite confusing paragraph for someone who doesn't know the content being discussed. And the characters are minor enough that even IMDB doesn't have more detail for me. Could someone fix up this section so that it accurately conveys the content of the show?

(P.S. I don't know whether this might be an issue here, but on the DM wiki I found that a good section of Wikipedia's article had been copied over wholesale, but the name of Steve's wife had been changed to "Cathy Sloan," and a related stub makes me think someone has rewritten part of the wiki to represent their fanfic version. Which is the reason I came here, trying to get more accurate info, and I'm left wondering if someone has come through here and switched up a bit of info to match a fanfic somewhere.
