Purpose

[edit]

Either there are several articles on this list that should be removed, or the name ought to be changed. The inclusion of Non-Profit organizations on this list does not match its business title. Also the inclusion of organizations that are not actually owned/opperated by Friends seems problematic. --Ahc 06:24, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the title of this article is problematic, which is why I have stressed the fact that most are no longer Quaker influenced. Perhaps we could change the title to something more appropriate or make the list much more restrictive. How many Quaker businesses are there today?--Shantavira|feed me 08:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The schools alone that would belong on this list would triple the length; i've added a few but would propose creating separate lists for educational institutions, Quaker non-profits, non-profits started by Quakers but not currently operated under Quaker boards, and businesses started but not necessarily still owned by Quaker concerns.
