Consider merging the lists into Biodiversity of South Africa

[edit]

This is a fairly short list, unlikely to be expanded much if it remains a list, and all of the content would be appropriate as lists in Biodiversity of South Africa (currently in draft). I suggest a merge and redirect, but maybe I have missed something? · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 07:37, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Tom Radulovich: as article creator.

Thank you for asking. My preference is to leave this as a list. It is unlikely to get larger (unless South Africa also does), but the point of a list is not necessarily to grow, but to be accurate, complete, and succinct. Articles that also try to be lists often end up as awkward listicles, doing both jobs poorly. Biodiversity of South Africa is clearly related topic, but its subject matter is likely to be broader and more diffuse. It may or may not take an ecoregion approach to biodiversity. The list and the article ought to be kept separate, and given any appropriate links to the other. Tom Radulovich (talk) 15:16, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
