I haven’t seen anybody bring this up, so I have to ask: aside from “Infinity Repeating”, “Prime”, and maybe “Horizon Ouverture”, do any of the “new” songs from Random Access Memories (10th Anniversary Edition) really belong in this list? Besides those I named, the rest are basically reworkings of previously-released songs. It would be like if we included “Revolution 909 (acapella)” or “Robot Rock (Maximum Overdrive)” in the list. I wanted to bring this up in the talk page before making the edit myself. Shoesquashfan5000 (talk) 08:26, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No they don't. Only new songs belong on the list. Thing like backing tracks, demos of released songs, etc. are just overkill. – zmbro(talk) (cont)12:01, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We're splitting hairs here. Prime is considered unfinished in its name, Horizon is an ouverture, and Infinity Repeating is classified as a demo. I mean for the sake of simplicity, they are released songs regardless of the definition. I can understand remixes to their own works but this is not case here. This list never provided a definition on what the list should or should not include. I doubt there's a general guideline of these lists within WP:WPMUSIC, so the only applicable item to these lists is WP:LISTN. – The Grid (talk) 14:28, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen other lists of this nature do other things but the way I see these lists are we have the main songs that were released by the artists in their original forms, meaning studio recordings, live performances that aren't included on any studio record, and any songs that exist in rough or demo forms only as those constitute recorded by. With DP, that would constitute their studio albums and any non-album singles (yes there are remixes, but those are most of the time the same songs. RAM10 seems to have complicated things here. "Infinity Repeating" no doubt belongs on the list as the duo themselves stated it's the "last DP song" for good. "Prime" may be unfinished, but it's the only version of the song that exists, so it should be included. "Horizon overture" I kind of see like Kanye's "All of the Lights Interlude" that precedes the main song on MBDTF; it's simply an extension of the main one. Everything else on RAM10 are mostly working versions of all the songs on the main album, meaning they're not new. That's at least how I see these songs lists. – zmbro(talk) (cont)15:04, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
