Does anyone understand this sentence?

[edit]

“In opposite to previous disputes between the emperor and the papacy the ban did not longer react.”

I’ve just copyedited the article a little, but this line stumped me. I haven’t taken it out in case it is supposed to add something important to the previous sentence.

At a guess, it means "In contrast to previous disputes between the emperor and the papacy, the ban no longer caused a significant reaction." Or something. john k 21:25, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I've now changed it to something along those lines.--qp10qp 18:35, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Place of Death

[edit]

The Infobox says the location where Louis IV died is Puch. However, when I click on the link, I am taken to the page of the modern day Motorcycle company. While I believe someone can die on the grounds of a motorcycle company, this particular company was founded in 1889, long after Louis IV died.

The disambiguation links to the Motorcycle company and two different municipalities. I would fix it but I do not know which it was actually meant to be. If you know, please fix it. Mellie107 02:18, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox says "near Fürstenfeldbruck." I used google maps to determine the location of the two different municipalities. Puch bei Hallein is closer to Fürstenfeldbruck (Puch bei Weiz 466 km, Puch bei Hallein 173 km). However, I would not consider either of these distances "near." In addition, one must go through Munich to get from either Puch to Fürstenfeldbruck. Is there another city named Puch which is closer?
