Tour

Why exactly can we not include the announced dates and locations for the album's promotional tour here? Obviously there is not enough material as of now to create a new article for the tour, but that doesn't mean we should exclude the information from Wikipedia altogether. That's basically why. The tour itself isn't super-duper notable on its own terms (yet) and so filling this article with data about it would be WP:UNDUE and WP:INDISCRIMINATE.

If it ever attracts enough attention in reliable secondary sources to justify its own page then that would be the time when including tables with setlists, dates, venues etc might be justifiable. Release date

"Personnel" x 2?

Did David write lyrics or not?

The article states that this is the first album for which Gilmour hasn't written any lyrics since The Final Cut (1982). But the track listing shows "D Gilmour" as a lyricist for "Scattered". A little clarification, please? EJSawyer (talk) 20:01, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I Have Ghosts

Should we consider adding "Yes, I Have Ghosts" to the album's track listing? My argument for it would be that it appears on almost all versions of the album and most notably CD, streaming, digital download. It also features on the BD and is only excluded from vinyl editions - and vinyl is hardly the predominant medium nowadays. The song should be included with the note "not on vinyl edition". What "officially" makes up the track listing is neither here nor there and the song, until now, had been a non-album single. There is, for example, no argument for excluding "Yes, I Have Ghosts" from Luck and Strange but including "When the Tigers Broke Free" on The Final Cut. – Dyolf87 (talk) 08:44, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If it appears on most standard versions of the album and isn't described as a bonus track (in press materials or by reliable sources) then I think it would be sane to include it. However I'm open to counter-arguments. There's a bigger question here about how we determine what a "standard" track list is, and that might be worth asking at WP:ALBUMS. It's a bonus track and it should be listed as such, with the other one (on the CD), three (on the BD) or four (on the box set). The CD and Blu-Ray Disc, which I have, both have a "bonus tracks" headline above them.

You cannot buy a CD of the album without "Yes, I have Ghosts" and the Barn Jam. They're also included on the download/streaming release, so the article currently only reflects the vinyl LP. I'm also not a fan whatsoever of that guideline - tons of Wikipedia articles I have extensively leaned on during my times of getting into various artists would've been far less useful in my exploration if that policy was already put in place then and I'm grateful that it hasn't existed then. I understand, but "it's useful" isn't a good argument in favor of keeping content on Wikipedia. See WP:USEFUL: All encyclopedic content should be useful to someone, but not all content useful to someone is encyclopedic. You always have Discogs when you want to dive into discographies.
