Name
[edit]It is my presumption, though I have not seen it documented, that Jackson named the child with reference to Robert Southey's 1805 epic "Madoc", in which the Welsh explorer takes on an attractive Native American youth, Lincoya, who accompanies him in his adventures in civilizing the Aztecs, etc. --Dystopos (talk) 16:53, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
Did you know nomination

- Source for this hook: "For Jackson and his supporters, however, Lyncoya remained Jackson's "benevolent object." By telling the story of Lyncoya's adoption, they tried to craft Jackson into more than a military general who had slaughtered Indigenous peoples."
