The result of the move request was: page moved to MRSA (disambiguation) and MRSA now redirects to Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Steel1943 (talk) 01:21, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MRSAMRSA (disambiguation) – This is a twodabs situation with a clear primary topic, for the following reasons:

  1. The only term actually known as "MRSA" with that capitalization is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The only other meaning offered, 2-Ketoarginine methyltransferase, is abbreviated with the unusual capitalization of "mrsA".
  2. I went through the first twenty straight pages of Google hits for "MRSA", and every single Google hit was for the Staphylococcus variant.
  3. Within Wikipedia, the gene had 21 views last month while the Staphylococcus variant had 84,913 views, and was one of the top 5,000 pages viewed in all of Wikipedia. In other words of all the page views for possible meanings of MRSA, the gene has accounted for 0.025% of page views, while the Staphylococcus variant has accounted for 99.975%.

I would move this page to the disambiguated title and redirect MRSA to Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. bd2412 T 14:59, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, with an alternate suggestion ...sort of. With the information I am seeing here, I would actually fix this in a slightly different method and not even create the MRSA (disambiguation) at all:
  1. Make MRSA a redirect to Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
  2. Put this hatnote template at the top of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus: {{Redirect|MRSA|the enzyme|2-Ketoarginine methyltransferase}}.
That's the route I would take ... per WP:TWODABS. It prevents having to create MRSA (disambiguation) until there's another article whose title can be abbreviated as MRSA. Steel1943 (talk) 22:26, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
