If this is not used by XP, then why do I have a (blank) file at C:\MSDOS.SYS? Can I delete it? 61.68.108.125 10:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, you can. It is only for compatibility purpose.--Wengier 22:34, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Original research
[edit]This entire article is completely unsourced, and at least one of the external links ([1]) references back this page, which makes a rather circular citation and that web site should not be considered a reliable source. I will attempt to clean up some of the language, and I luckily still have one book on MS-DOS 5.0 I can use for a small citation on this particular file (not much is said about it, but it's one source). In addition, I'll take the liberty of changing the terminology from "MS-DOS 7.0" to "Windows 95", as there was no actual product under the former name. --Chungy (talk) 14:20, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
