inception
[edit]Was this band formed in 1988 or 1994? It says formation was 1988, but refers to inception as 1994. I am concerned about verifiable content here as well. No sources. Jokerst44 14:54, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- The band was formed in 1988, but their first album was not released until 1994 according to the source below ("Past History"). 24.36.35.188 (talk) 12:16, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Dan Potthast
[edit]Is there a past to Dan Potthast redirecting here, and not having his own page? Dan has three solo albums and tours solo as well as his work in MU330. I think he is notable enough to have his own page.LessThanClippers 08:22, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Unless there is no objection, I would like to make a Dan Potthast page. Dan is a major figure in the 3rd wave ska scene, and has now started a new band, The Stitch Up.LessThanClippers 01:16, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes, please do create a page for him. Otherwise, I'd do it myself, and I'm not fond of having to DO things.Skibz777 (talk) 22:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Past History
[edit]For a web page that documents the band's history and former personnel try all music. I have no special interest in this article so I'll leave the editing to someone who has actually heard of the band. 24.36.35.188 (talk) 04:32, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Never mind, I did it myself. The band history, personnel and so on is documented in the external link All Music MU330 - Biography. I can't see footnoting this kind of article, but if you want to put them in, knock yourself out. 24.36.35.188 (talk) 18:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
As I said above, I've never even heard of this band. I don't think the presence of one typo (if it really is a typo and not a stage name - I won't pretend to know) means we can't believe anything else in All Music, but anyone is entitled to disagree. I can't see wasting any more of my time on this. 24.36.35.188 (talk) 00:20, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Skavanaugh
[edit]There was a problem with this link. It states the original lead singer's last name as "Skavanaugh", and that is incorrect. His last name is Kavanaugh. Freemasonx (talk) 23:33, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Freemasonx is correct about the real name being Kavanaugh (his sister Jenny Kavanaugh is apparently also making a name for herself), but a Google search on John Skavanaugh turns up many hits which obviously refer to the same person. Here is another site with some biography and trivia on the current members. 24.36.35.188 (talk) 00:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- "Skavanaugh" or "Skavanaw" was a stage name - because he was in a ska band, get it? See the second-last paragraph of this article from the (U of St Louis) University News, which says "One of the Outlaws is Jenny’s brother John Kavanaugh, who was the original lead singer for MU330. Perhaps John can be persuaded to join his former bandmates for a mini-reunion and reassume his former role as 'John Skavanaw.' " Also check this MySpace profile where John himself says he's known to his friends as John Skavanaw. 24.36.21.8 (talk) 01:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Attention
[edit]It is funny that this article gets so much attention. I am not sure why. I know my personal interest is the fact that I went to high school with Potthast, Kavanaugh, and Struckel. That being said it is still not worthy of the attention it gets. Freemasonx (talk) 17:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- It IS odd, isn't it? 24.36.35.188 admitted he had never heard of them, and I only got involved because I was checking some things in his edit history. Maybe I'll just apologize for what I just wrote on your talk page and find something else to work on. 24.36.21.8 (talk) 18:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- My friend...it has already established that someone else had been using my account, and wrote those things. I am sorry you had not been privy to such info, please becareful of accusations. Freemasonx (talk) 15:30, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- This whole article is a joke. Seriously, you people who spend time on it have way to much time on your hands. Sad actually. 12.202.75.101 (talk) 16:03, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Some sources for a biography.
[edit]I started fixing up this page, but I never got around to crafting a biography. I see that there's been a bit of activity on this article lately, so I'm going to supply a few links I've found that hopefully someone can use to help build up this page:
- 2000 Houston Press article
- 2001 Colorado Springs Gazette article
- 2005 ReadJunk interview with Dan
- 2007 PunkNews.org interview with Dan
- 2007 interview with Dan
- 1998 show review
- 2003 article from Riverfront Times
- 2009 article on Dan's new band
Hope this helps! Skibz777 (talk) 14:26, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
