lateral consonants

[edit]

When the table was displayed in IAST transcription, the lateral column had l, r, and ḷ. I've assumed that the r is an alveolar lateral and the l is a dental one but I may be incorrect. So don't take it at face value. — Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 20:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actual pronunciation of borrowed "phonemes"

[edit]

The Arabic and Persian phonemes are probably merged and simplified in various ways. It should be mentioned how. 93.206.134.165 (talk) 17:47, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've found a table on a blog about Dhivehi that clarifies the actual pronunciation of these borrowed "phonemes", but I don't know if this source meets Wikipedia standards, although I would consider it highly reliable especially under the circumstances of the little amount of sources on Dhivehi.
