List of refs for possible expansion

[edit]

Just placing a list of reliable references here for the possible future expansion of this article. Have no plans to work on it currently, so it's up for grabs for any interested editors. Will place more when/if I come across them (I always find grouping refs helpful for future editing).

  • Note: This very useful link actually takes you to the page after the chapter on the film of Mansfield Park (1999) in Film England: Culturally English Filmmaking Since the 1990s By Andrew Higson. You will need to scroll back to page 161 (Chapter 6) Petrosbizar (talk) 14:20, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Thomas's "Redemption"

[edit]

At the end of the "Slavery" section under "Differences from novel," it says that "a voiceover [...] informs the viewer that Sir Thomas has divested himself of his estates in Antigua, presumably as a form of redemption." This seems to me very personal opinion-ish, and also neglects to mention that he invests instead in the tobacco trade, which had its own ties to slavery, so it's not like this 'redemption' stuff is some obvious inference. 173.76.235.142 (talk) 21:17, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
