Hey guys, overall you did an incredible job. You have tons of information in regards to Mario's accomplishments/written works and you also provide a nice little table of contents. With this being said, I'd highly advise you to cite and (maybe) link his work back to where you found all the info because it currently looks like you pulled all those publications out of nowhere. In addition, I'd advise that you move your "Contribution to Sociology" portion up towards to the top above "Books/Publications". If you also slap on a picture of Mario with a little info about age and place of birth, you'd be good to go.Jiggyiggysoc (talk) 20:24, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Group 23 you did a great job, but I suggest you guys talk more about his life. For example, you could give a background of his life. Also, you guys could come up with more references, so that could help the reader to trust your information. in briefly, you did a good job, but you need to work on the references and gives background.[1].Ahmedz12z (talk) 23:45, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello group 23, I had so much fun reading your draft entry on Mario Luis Small. I have noticed that there was not any picture of any kind which could be a downside for your entry. I can only imagine how hard it will be to find a picture of Mario Luis Small, but even a drawing will help. Other suggestion is to use bullet lists on sections like Books,Edited volumes and Papers. I think that will make it look better and easier to scan by readers. There is also number of important information messing about Mario Luis Small like when and where he was born and what is his Occupation. Keep the good work guys! Group 23, It looks like you guys have a really good start! Moving forward, I would suggest that you talk more about how his work specifically impacted race and ethnicity and how the public's views on ghettos may have changed because of him. I am not sure how much information there is on Mario Luis Small as a whole, but I noticed different sections such as Mario Luis Small, Biography, and his impact on sociology to be repeating a lot of the same things. Also, I would just quickly read through each section for some grammatical mistakes. Again, you have a good start here! Just try and find some more information if you can. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julijones1 (talkcontribs) 20:10, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nice start on your draft. A few thoughts on how it could be improved

  • When writing biographical articles, please follow the layout that’s recommended on page 3 of the Editing Biographies handout linked above. Wikipedia articles aren't C.V.s; while a short list of major publications is OK (usually just books, but sometimes highly influential articles), Wikipedia articles don't include extensive publications lists. You might list a few major awards, but nothing as extensive as you have listed here. If you write about accomplishments, do it in prose, not in lists.
  • Wikipedia articles need to be based on reliable secondary sources which are independent of the subject. You need to use sources that are not under the control of the subject.
  • Please add links to other Wikipedia articles. Terms that are likely to be unfamiliar to the average reader should be linked the first time they appear in the article. That way readers can click through and learn more about that topic.
  • The article needs to be carefully copyedited.

Thank you for the great advice we will be working on these changes before going live.{{ping|Ian (Wiki Ed)}}LexiKincaid (talk) 02:04, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
