Pier

[edit]

Found on the web: "Theobert Maler published already 1903 his supposition that the pier of Yaxchulan belonges to a bridge over the river Usumacinta?" This information should be in the article; could someone track down this source and provide a full reference? I expect it is in German. --Una Smith (talk) 17:06, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Caution

[edit]

Although this is presented as fact, the notion of a bridge here at Yaxchilan is still highly speculative. The article should present it as a theory. Moreover, only one pier has been discovered. It is quite possible that there was no bridge at all, but rather a customs station, or some defensive structure to control traffic on the river. Neatguy (talk) 17:35, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
