Edit Request

[edit]

DISCLOSURE: I am proposing the below edit for FleishmanHillard on behalf of Hagerty. I am a paid editor for various brands and am aware of the COI guidelines.

Please consider updating the first sentence in the second paragraph under the Career section to read: In 2000, McKeel became the CEO of Hagerty, and he was first among classic car insurers to embrace the internet for online quoting and policy management.

Hagerty Insurance now goes by the name Hagerty; this minor change would reflect that update in the article. Thanks for considering this request. Justin Goldsborough (talk) 03:30, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article in question already contains part of the requested changes (the claim that the subject was "the first among classic car insurers to embrace the internet for online quoting"). Additionally, this article may be problematic in other areas (i.e., the claim regarding the subject's "wooden boat collection", and the claim that "McKeel finished a three-year restoration of his first car with his father – a 1967 Porsche 911S"). I've placed the Resume and Peacock templates in the article for the claims I just highlighted, and I'm leaving the COI edit request template open to garner the input of other editors. .spintendo) 04:25, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spintendo: Thanks for the reply. Understand your notes above. My request was to change the reference in that sentence from Hagerty Insurance Agency to Hagerty by inserting Hagerty. Can you let me know thoughts on that edit? Thanks. Justin Goldsborough (talk) 13:43, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The following sentences were removed for the reasons specified:

  • "His first initiative included building a creative marketing and communications plan on a small budget that included a tongue-in-cheek advertising campaign, bringing a fun, human element to a formal insurance industry." This claim was unreferenced. (See WP:RS.)
  • "McKeel sits on numerous boards and advisory groups, and appears regularly as a commentator for cable and network news segments." - The claims in this sentence are that the subject sits on "numerous boards". This information needs to be referenced by a third party. (See WP:BLPSELFPUB.)
  • "Now, McKeel is on a mission to #SaveDriving, recently speaking on a panel to discuss “Why Driving Matters” with former Vice Chairman of General Motors, Bob Lutz, and Wayne Carini of Velocity Chasing Classic Cars." - This is promoting #SaveDriving. The promotion of charitable or semi-charitable work in articles which aren't about the charity is discouraged. (See WP:NOBLECAUSE.)
