'Her hospitals and all her property' being taken over
'In 1950 when her hospitals and all her property were taken over by the communist government, she left for Hong Kong and came to the United States via England.'
Speaking about 'her hospitals being taken over' sounds as if the hospitals were confiscated from her and she emigrated because of her displeasure with that, but the preceding text does not suggest that she owned the hospitals, only that she was their director. In that case, it remains unclear what actually changed in the status of the hospitals with the communist takeover and why she would have any objections.
Speaking about 'all her property' is likewise confusing. Did she own a significant amount of property that could be nationalised? Nothing in the text explains how that would have come to be - neither profitable business/entrepreneurship nor inheritance are mentioned. The communist government did not literally confiscate 'all property' including beds, blankets, mirrors and toothbrushes of the kind I would expect her to own, it would confiscate means of production like factories, farming estates, housing for rent etc. 62.73.72.3 (talk) 20:50, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
