Flowering period

[edit]

The article states flowering is from October to December, based on a tourist website (Fiji Facts). I would like to see something more authoritative. I have been in the mountains of Taveuni in June, and found and photographed flowering tagimaucia. At the same time, we met up there a Fijian party come to collect the flowers for a ceremony. OK, this could be called original research, but it would seem from the locals that it flowers year round, as many plants in the tropics do. More verification needed than an unsourced tourist brochure, written by who knows whom. I would suggest a better source would be https://naturefiji.org/tagimaucia-medinilla-waterhousei/ , which states "The Tagimaucia appears to be in flower for much of the year; those who frequent the trail to Lake Tagimaucia suggest that it is in full bloom in the last few months of the year." this article also supports the "less than 3 months out of the year" idea
