Footnote 'a'

[edit]

Shall we move the text of footnote 'a' to the place in the article where it is cited? I believe it belongs there as an important fact about Feingold and the Obies, rather than being buried at the bottom where it is hardly noticeable. Wigly Pigly (talk) 19:34, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I put it in a footnotre because it's really not about Feingold, per se, but about Havel and the Obies, and a footnote seemed a better solution than either leaving it out, or making it parenthetical in the body. Beyond My Ken (talk) 19:40, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Though it is about Havel winning the Obies, Feingold presented them. It seems to me that is an important fact, given that Havel was a political figure as well as a playwright, and the Obies were chaired by Feingold. Wigly Pigly (talk) 00:52, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that, which is why it's in the article in the first place, but it's not primarily about something Feingold was responsible for, except insofar as he voted for the award as one of the judges. Whoever was the Chairman at the time -- if Feingold wasn't -- would have presented it. If there was additional information showing how Feingold pushed for the award for Havel, or some other personal involvement, I would feel differently. Ok, let's leave it where it is and see if some other editors weigh in.Wigly Pigly (talk) 03:21, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:10, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
