Spanish naming customs
[edit]According to KFFL - Miguel Jean, SS, Minnesota Twins, Miguel uses his maternal name "Sanó," out of respect for the Dominican Republic, which is his "second" surname when the formality is usually to use the parental name which would be "Jean" or the last name that proceeds the ending maternal name. Hence, Miguel(first name) Ángel(middle name) "Jean"(parental name) Sanó(maternal name) is correct. His paternal name is not "Sanó," therefore it should not render "Sanó Jean." Baseball-Reference has it correct and goes as far as putting Jean in parentheses most likely due to the nature of unorthodox usage by Miguel. Savvyjack23 (talk) 05:52, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- Also according to KFFL (source above), he had initially used the parental name "Jean," but decided to represent Sanó. However, this doesn't change the naming customs or his birth name. Savvyjack23 (talk) 05:55, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Miguel Sanó
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Miguel Sanó's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

- From 2017 in baseball: Anthony Rendon becomes 2nd player to have 6 hits, 3 HRs, 10 RBIs in a game in MLB history. ESPN. Retrieved on May 3, 2017.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 16:58, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
