Legality of works
[edit]If his works (namely the Boiled Angel series) were judged to be obscene, did it become illegal to possess/sell/distribute copies of said works after his conviction? Cronos12390 19:56, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think so, only because I bought my copies after his conviction. I think they were openly displayed along with other underground comics. Maybe they are illegal in the jurisdiction that convicted Diana. ike9898 (talk) 13:45, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- A 2002 supreme court verdict sounds like it should have vindicated him.[1] According to it a drawing of a priest raping a child should be protected free speech. It's funny to think now, when the Catholic church is being criticized from all sides for molestation cases, that a little consideration for commentators like Diana back in the early 90s might have saved dozens of children from abuse. David Johnston
[edit]The article now says that the play Busted Jesus Comics was written by David Johnston. I'm guessing that the author is not really Governor-General of Canada, but none of the candidates at David Johnston (disambiguation) is obviously more likely. —Tamfang (talk) 07:31, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
