[edit]Are Ermine and Miniver two different furs? According to art critic and television presenter Waldemar Januszczak, presenting his program "The Renaissance Unchained" for BBC4 2016, Jan van Eyck's "Marriage of the Arnolfini" depicts the bride wearing a cloak lined with miniver. Januszczak claimed miniver was the pelt of the Red Squirrel and in particular the white fur of the chest alone. The Arnolfini bride's cloak containing no less than the chest fur of 2000 Red Squirrels. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.137.244.117 (talk) 14:37, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
