Name
[edit]Does anyone know if it is named after Sendai, Japan? -alhead
- I seem to recall that Faísca mentioned in his article that the virus was named after an outbreak in Sendai, but I'm having trouble backing that up. -EarthRise33 23:49, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Turns out that it is. Faísca said that in Sendai, 1952, an infectious agent was isolated from several newborns and grown up in mice. In 1954, another group said that the agent was actually from the mouse, i.e., SeV. -EarthRise33 12:58, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Renaming
[edit]There is no link for the rename action as explanation. I don't think wikipedia should rename a virus WITHOUT linking to the change (e. g. at the ICTV or elsewhere).
Right now there isn't anything EXPLAINING the changed name here. 2A02:8388:1602:6D80:C080:419D:679D:C9F8 (talk) 02:50, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

- Thank you for pointing me to this problem. I will try gradually to transform external links to the references. I did a few today and I will continue in future. Olgamatveeva (talk) 00:26, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
