- YouTube is not a valid source in this case, since the video seems to have been made privately, in any case not by a recognized news agency. Please find a better source. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 19:41, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- That is why it isn't in the article. great observation Drew Stanley (talk) 16:33, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Chiara Lubich as founder?
[edit]Lubich was not often involved in the founding or administration of schools; her job as the director of Focolare would not have allowed it. On the other hand, if it's true, it does makes this school signficant. Still: Do we have any reliable sourcing that says she founded it? And if the school is now -- after a time of being closed down -- called Mutual Love SS, can we really say that she founded Mutual Love? -- Melchior2006 (talk) 16:57, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- The article was about Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, which is an important Cameroonian school. It had notable alumni. You changed the title of the page. Now it is no longer notable, since Mutual Love has no important alumni. Drew Stanley (talk) 19:51, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- As for notable school: I will let your logic speak for itself. If this argument were to be taken seriously, the article should be nominated for deletion, but I will leave that up to you. Now, how about Lubich? -- Melchior2006 (talk) 12:44, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- I nominated it, it could be phrased founded by the movement, which is associated with lubich? Drew Stanley (talk) 20:58, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't understand your point. Could you reformulate it? My concern is that deletion may be in order, since this school "has received no or very little notice from independent sources, then it is not notable simply because other individual organizations of its type are commonly notable ... No matter how "important" editors may personally believe an organization to be, it should not have a stand-alone article in Wikipedia unless reliable sources independent of the organization have given significant coverage to it." That is taken from WP:NORG. But if you could find some source that confirms Lubich "founded" it, there may be hope for the article. --Melchior2006 (talk) 12:50, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- agreeing with you on deletion, i believe i tried to nominate it. If the article stays, it could mention something more indirect about Lubich? Because the only people that say she founded this school/any school are the schools themselves right. I do think the school can be notable for having been shut down due to the Anglophone Crisis. If you take a look at that. Drew Stanley (talk) 18:11, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- And again, our lady seat of wisdom has notable alumni, in my opinion the article should be about our lady seat of wisdom, and it can even mention that the school shut down becauseof the crisis. there is a new school that operates on the same campus. Does that make sense? Drew Stanley (talk) 18:13, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- I set up an automatic redirect, so that if someone looks for OLSW, they will be directed to MLSS. You could explain how the change in name took place, how long it was closed, etc ... if there are sources for that. If there is no independent sourcing about Lubich, then her name schould be deleted. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 18:42, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- THe sourcesi added to the article are all the sources that exist. no worries, but i do think the lack of sources contributes to the eurocentrism of wikipedia, especially among christianity articles Drew Stanley (talk) 15:03, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
