Picture orientation and distance

[edit]

According to several other websites that I've checked, there are two things "wrong" with this article.

First, the photo's orientation. It needs a vertical (top/bottom) flip since "north" is almost always at the top' not at the bottom. In fact, all the websites I checked had the photo flipped with the bright spot in the upper right corner actually being in the lower right corner. That's because most sites identify the bright spot as a rising Moon - - - and I've never known the Moon to rise from the upper part of the sky.

Second, those same sites give the distance of the galaxy at 140 million light years; not the 25 mentioned in the lede nor the 39.8 in the Infobox. And even if the "140" is not correct, why is there any difference between the numbers in the lede and the Infobox?

Can anyone verify these two items and make the necessary corrections in the article?

Just curious. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 01:25, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
