Reviews to use for later
[edit]- PMID 26431941 PMID 26425389 - covers peripheral leukocyte infiltration during inflammation, immune cell sensing of DAMPs and PAMPs via pattern recognition receptors, Treg-T cell involvement during infection

Class project
[edit]Hello!
I will hopefully be contributing to this article as part of my class project! I will be making some minor additions to the second intro paragraph which will include a brief mention about the production of immune cells directly in the CNS. I will hopefully be adding more content under the Cellular physiology heading that is marked incomplete. In the first paragraph of this section I will include information on cytokines and their role in coordinating responses between the immune and nervous system. This also includes an example of cytokine binding to interleukin receptors and the resulting sensation of pain. I will also be going over some general information about the physiology and cellular processes behind neuroimmune actions to dangerous stimuli, necrosis, and inflammation. I will also be starting a new section called Neuroimmune responses. In this section I will branch to two subheadings which include withdrawal reflex and reflexes to pathogens and toxins. These sections will include information about their respective reflexes and how the neuroimmune system is involved in them.
I will add any more relevant information as I do more research on this topic. I expect to post these edits between April 5 - April 8. Looking forward to working with other Wikipedians on this article! Gandalf122 (talk) 18:08, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Please improve this article by citing research not review
[edit]It would be great if the references in this article would be improved from indirect review citations to direct research citations. Who actually did the experiment that helped us understand? Citing reviews makes it hard to find the sources. Occasionally, the reviews even cite other reviews which cite the original. Best to go straight to the grain. Thanks. — J.S.talk 08:56, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
