History notes

[edit]

This is a summary of the changes that have occurred every 10 years, simply to start off the history and give something to start with. Exact years need to be pinned down. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:31, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • 1931: section from Minco–US 62 was part of OK-41 (which was later renumbered to SH-152). SH-37 ran from US 62 northeast of Blanchard to US 77 in Norman, present-day SH-9 routing
  • 1941: SH-41 realigned to the north along present-day SH-152 routing. Old SH-41 from Minco–US 62 is now SH-37 (present routing). US 62–Norman has since become SH-9
  • 1951: Extended to present-day termini, via concurrency with US 62. Since the Bailey Turnpike doesn't exist yet, neither does the Will Rogers Expy connection.
  • 1961: Same

Even after the freeway was built, I-44 doesn't exist here until 1986 or so.
