Looking for opinions concerning whether "18 casualties" actually belongs.

Judging by the source and the article's own content, it appears that the 18 injured were before the actual attack by the American warships, and therefore, does not make sense to be included in the infobox as American casualties of the operation itself. I'll let this comment sit here for a few days, and if there's a opposition then I'll let it be. But if anyone agrees please let me know.
