[edit]I suspect that this has been at least partially plaigerized from the book "The Native Tribes of South West Africa," which is itself horribly out-of-date.

Butchered by the Kaiser?
[edit]Christopher Hitchens claimed at http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2008/06/14/a-war-worth-fighting.html that these people were oppressed by the German Kaiser prior to WW1. Maybe something about this should be added if it is true?
