Suggested merge here of articles about dermatitis caused by pederin from skin contact with a rove beetle

[edit]

Instead of having three two small articles discussing Paederus dermatitis, this one plus two localized names for the irritation of human skin by the chemical pederin, I think that Blister beetle dermatitis and Nairobi fly dermatitis should redirect to this page, and that this page should discuss the general situation, with other material in subsections. Oops, my mistake. Blister beetle dermatitis is caused by a different beetle group with a different toxin cantharidin, although the dermatitis symptoms and treatment are very similar.[1] Sharktopus talk 14:54, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed the merge of Nairobi fly dermatitis into this article.LT90001 (talk) 13:25, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dermatitis linearis

[edit]

I added the name dermatitus linearis as synonym, for two reasons: 1) in this very article that term is used and 2) the term is used in other Wikipedia articles (e.g. in the Rove beetle article). I saw the term was removed by user Ozzie10aaaa on 23 July 2019‎, without explanation, but if they have reasons to not want that term please add here.
