Insufficient disambiguation
[edit]The newly created biog, currently titled Pat Murphy (sports journalist) is about someone who has had at least 41 books published.
I suggest this page is renamed Pat Murphy (science fiction writer). Any objection? --Dweller (talk) 14:27, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- I oppose the move. The sports journalist seems to be a ghost-writer rather than an original writer. His page describes him as "sports writer and radio broadcaster", the only reference to his book authorship being in a quote from one of the books he has worked on (where the British Library catalogue does not list him as an author). There are a lot of incoming links to the page for Pat Murphy (writer), all of which would need to be updated if that page was moved. More important is to ensure that the Pat Murphy disambiguation page gives good clues to help readers distinguish them, and I have now done so. PamD 08:52, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I also oppose as it would hurt readers looking for this article while not helping them get to the sports journalist any faster. However, I have updated the hatnote on this article to point directly to Pat Murphy (sports journalist) as he is the only other writer with that name. Now anyone searching for "Pat Murphy writer" will get to the journalist as quickly as they would though a dab page, if not more quickly. Station1 (talk) 04:12, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
Bibliography
[edit]I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. Feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 11:21, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
