La Cruz reward

[edit]

User NoonIcarus wants to include this part[1] to the article. The text, however, seems to me evidently out of context. Moreover, if there are reliable sources claiming that La Cruz was awarded with a "fish and two bottles of soft drink" for shouting that slogan, then we may as well include it, but there is currently none of that.--Mhorg (talk) 18:54, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The included article specifically mentions how La Cruz shouted the slogan "Patria o Muerto", so it is relevant to the article. --NoonIcarus (talk) 10:32, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It seems a bit of a stretch to say it is relevant to this article. The awards were for winning the gold medal, not for shouting the slogan. It sounds as though the awards were made by his local community, not by the Cuban government. The article mentions he received various gifts, including handicrafts from local women. It then says a photo shows the images of fish, two bottles of carbonated soft drink and another of rum. Burrobert (talk) 15:09, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph locations - none in Cuba?

[edit]

Of the two photographs in this article, both appear to have been taken in the United States. Do there exist any photographs of crowds of people singing this song in Cuba? The History Wizard of Cambridge (talk) 08:22, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
