caption

[edit]

It is the reverter's duty to provide an appropriate reason for reverting. There is no reaosn to have an uncaptionned image when a caption is clearly helpful. Circeus 15:43, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide a link to WP guidelines which justify your whimsical edit. Thanks, Ghirla -трёп- 15:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please provide a link to a Wikipedia that justify your unwarranted reverting. If your only answer is "provide a justifictaion", which I did, you clealry have no argument in favor of having no caption. Circeus 15:53, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, you provided no justification. As usual, you came to another's article shouting that nobody owns it but yourself. Since there is no guideline justifying your ownership of articles written by others, I feel it my duty, as a much more experienced wikipedian, to rectify your unjustified edit and to restore the layout which I think suits the article best. Happy edits, Ghirla -трёп- 16:06, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Captions and stop 1) biting the newbies and 2) acting like you own the article yourself. Sasquatch t|c 20:31, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted the anon edit. I cannot judge the orthographic changes (although altering the original transliteration is not very polite) and I'll leave that to Ghirla, who is certainly more competent than me, but the change of the link icon from russian to hebrew makes me think this was hardly good faith. Circeus 21:34, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if Wikipedia:Captions is a guideline and who authored it, so I'll let the matter pass for now. I never bite the newbies, the so-called anon has had a long grudge against me. I don't believe that changing roubles to $ was a good-faith edit, as it triggered a comment by Honbicot below. --Ghirla -трёп- 06:40, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have stopped reverting his purely orthographical edits. Some article are at the given locations (Neplyuyev), others not (potemkin), and I don't feel like getting into a revert war over such trivial stuff. Circeus 15:52, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cost

[edit]

Exactly what sort of "$" is signified? The number needs some sort of context, or it might as well be random. Honbicot 17:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Catherine's residence?

[edit]

Sources generally agree that Pella was built for Alexander (while his granny entertained plans to remove Paul from succession) - lede says it was Catherine's palace - did she ever lived there? Perhaps needs changing. Here's one version of events: Shvidkovsky, D. S. (2007). Russian architecture and the West. Yale University Press.
