7. Overall assessment. | I'm going to put this article on hold until the nominators can get back to me on my feedback. Pinging OlifanofmrTennant and DoctorWhoFan91. IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC) |
- I don't think you need a ref for how to pronounce his name but I may be wrong. IntentionallyDense (talk) 22:34, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Is there any way you could replace the two metro sources, the youtube source, and Distractify source as they are all considered generally unreliable? IntentionallyDense (talk) 22:34, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- The YouTube sources are both primary, one is him pronouncing his name and the other is an interview for the movie. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 04:29, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think the one for him pronouncing his name should be fine but I'm not sure on the other one. I'm not too familiar with BLP and their standards for GA. I may have to ask for a second opinion but I will come back to this. IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:35, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Well it is definitely replaceable Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 05:24, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- If it's easily replacable then I would prefer a better source. IntentionallyDense (talk) 15:01, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Youtube refs changed, metro and distracify- need to search. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 19:26, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Ping me when you've got that done! IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:46, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- One metro ref changed to Manchester Evening News, other removed, as it was just a minor appearance. Found another source for Distractify ref, but it only mentions the first song, so I added the GamesRadar+ ref without removing the distractify one. Also I think we have replied to all of your suggestions, IntentionallyDense. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 07:07, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

he was a member of the Antonine Players
Could you either wikilink Antonine Players or give a quick explanation of what it is? IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC)wrote an alternative pantomime of Sleeping Beauty
A bit of a nitpick but should this be in italics since it's the title of a story? IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC)- The first few years of Capaldi's acting career were marked by sporadic appearances, beginning in a 1974 performance of the play An Inspector Calls,[18] and his first onscreen appearance occurring in 1981 as Joe Edwards in the Charles Gormley film Living Apart Together. may read smoother as

but let me know what you think. IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC) Done in such diverse mediums as movies
I think it would make sense to remove the "such" here but let me know what you think. IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC)The early years of his career saw him primarily acting in movies - on both the big screen and television: some of the major movies he appeared in include such titles as the archaelogy student Angus Flint in The Lair of the White Worm, and Azolan, a valet in pre-Revolution France in Dangerous Liaisons, both in 1988, and those on television include playing another Beatle George Harrison in John and Yoko: A Love Story in 1985, and Robert McRae in Chain in 1990.
This sentence is really long and kind of hard to follow, could you rephrase a bit? IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC)- Done
becoming the oldest actor since the first incarnation to star as the Doctor and the third oldest to portray the character
I think it would be relevant to include his age at this point in time. IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC) Done (I added a year to the ref's, as he began to star as the Doctor the year after his casting)The start of the year saw Capaldi portraying
I'm assuming you mean 2013 but since a date range is given for this section, could you specify? IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC) DoneCapaldi said that he was a fan of crime shows, but that often there is not much character development over the course of the show, and that they therefore created one where the plot changes the character and has a real impact on their life; with The Hollywood Reporter calling the series more interested in contemplating issues such as those of race, gender and other institutional disorders, in an ever increasing, politically polarized Britain.
appears to be unsourced. Also is that last part a direct quote? IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC) Done- F, I forgot to add the ref.
Singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi is his distant cousin,[115] and the two have worked together on one of the video versions for Lewis' "Someone You Loved", made in partnership with the charity organisation Live Life Give Life, in order to raise awareness for the issue of organ donation.[116]
This sentence is a bit long and hard to follow. Could you rephrase it? IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC) DoneHe grew up Catholic but is now an atheist
Is there more details on this or is that all the info sources give? IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC)- There is another source which mentions Capaldi was raised and is formerly Catholic, but I can't access either that ref or this ref, so I'll try to expand this later. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 19:44, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- The telegraph source says: "He isn't religious ("I grew up as a catholic but I don't believe in God now")" It isn't brought up again Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 01:59, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- If the source doesn't say anything then it's fine as is! IntentionallyDense (talk) 03:45, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- The other source also just says "I was brought up Catholic", so I don't think there is any point in adding it, will just keep as is. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 06:47, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

He was given an award for "Outstanding Contribution to Film & Television" at the Scottish BAFTAs.
Was this award for a specific performance? IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Nope, it was similar to lifetime achievement award. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 04:23, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- I see, thank you. IntentionallyDense (talk) 04:36, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
