Hellfire Benevolence?
[edit]Just wondering if you think it's inconsistent for a "hellfire and brimstone preacher" to also be characterized as preaching "benevolence"? Ghan-buri-ghan (talk) 18:13, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

A comment on Peter Cartwright among a group of ministers.
[edit]In a book published in 1909 (>110 years ago) there is a page on "Meeting a group of ministers" - Christmas Evans, Rowland Hill of England, Dr. Guthrie, Robert Flockhart, John Wesley, Dr. Adam Clark, George Fox, Peter Cartwright, Lorenzo Dow having a "preachers picnic party." Those who are interested to read/see this excerpt (which I am not allowed to upload) are welcome to email me. Thank you. Nicola'us Teoh 2019-12-11T03:17:57
Citation for quote
[edit]Here is a link to the oldest book I could find that contains the quote that is now marked "Citation needed": [1]
The same quote can be found in several other books, for example: [2]
The word "supposed" makes me think there is some question as to its authenticity.
Also note there is a typo in the text: it should be "ever" not "even".
