Primary topic

[edit]

I'm going to move this page as a (disambiguation) mark, so I could change this page as a redirect for Spider-Man because the name Peter Parker is synonymous with Spider-Man.--UltimatePyro 02:07, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone reversed this move. Spider-Man is an apparent primary topic for "Peter Parker"; is there some dispute over this? -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:12, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For me, the primary topic would be Peter Parker (British businessman) but I was interested in British Rail in the 1970s and 1980s as well as Marvel Comics in the 1960s.--Cavrdg (talk) 18:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Anecdotes aside, the primary topic for Wikipedia is determinable even if there are individual editors who would have others. -- JHunterJ (talk) 23:36, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm in favour of moving this page to Peter Parker (disambiguation), thus, having Peter Parker redirect to Spider-Man. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:42, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There could definitely be a dispute. The little-used alias of a comic book character takes precedence over real people?!?!? People looking for Spider Man are going to type Spider Man, not Peter Parker. LRT24 (talk) 21:31, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
