Permission

Email sent to permissions-enwikimedia.org regarding permissions, waiting for response — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magirob (talkcontribs) 13:53, 9 November 2011‎

Assuming a positive response, promotional tone of content, conflict of interest, and lack of reliable sources to support notability will remain issues. The preferred direction would be rewriting to address all these concerns, rather than cutting and pasting non-neutral content from the organization's website. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 13:56, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because the text used in the page was created by myself and a friend for the Portsmouth and District Magic Circle website, we spent hours researching the history of the society and WE are the originators of this text.

In researching the Portsmouth and District Magic Circle we referenced Will Aylings book - A Winters Tale, This book was produced FOR the Portsmouth and District Magic Circle and the Society holds the copy write for it.

I am a long term member of the Portsmouth and District Magic Circle and have served as president 4 times in my past.

The logo included in the page was designed and created by myself in the late 1990s

I am no longer on the committee of the society but I do have full permission to create this page as I still work very closely with the society, you can send them an email at pdmcmagic@gmail.com or use the contact form on http://www.portsmouthmagic.co.uk/contactus.php to confirm the details if you wish.

I do believe that the Portsmouth and District Magic Circle needs a Wikipedia page as we are getting increasing interest in us now we are approaching our 75th year in existence.

Many thanks

Hi Rob. Thanks for your explanation. Your involvement, as well as the circumstances regarding the book you're using as a source, all indicate problems with WP:COI, WP:RELIABLE, WP:NPOV, and at the moment WP:ADVERT as well. What's necessary is significant coverage by reliable sources which have no connection to the organization. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 14:19, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite

[edit]

I've re-written the article as a viable stub, removing all copypaste (apart from one one brief attributed quote) at Talk:Portsmouth and district magic circle/Temp. – Voceditenore (talk) 08:25, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to implement this as it's now been almsot 4 months since permission was apparently sent and nothing has (apparently) turned up. Dpmuk (talk) 21:02, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
