I wrote the original article, saying the "possibly false" statement about closed geodesics. This may be a terminology issue between number theorists and topologists. I was under the impression that geodesic loops ARE considered to be "closed geodesics". But I could be mistaken, of course. 75.95.125.245 (talk) 15:20, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have tried to study the matter for a short time.I understand, too, the definition of a closed geodesic as a geodesic "loop".
- After reading the article,I think there is perhaps confusions between the notions of closed geodesics in M and orbits in H(?). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.0.180.197 (talk) 09:30, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Is the metrics on the quotient set obvious ?
[edit]Under CLOSED GEODESICS,you said that "....by projecting this geodesic to M,we get a geodesic on \H".
Although I know what is the metrics on the H half-plane,I cannot see what is the metrics on this quotient set.Is it obvious ?
Thank you if you could give me the answer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.0.50.174 (talk) 17:33, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
