[edit]I have lived in Pyrford for thity-six years.
This is a poor article. It is largely the same as the history section of a longstanding commercial website. It has no structure, is poorly written, contains grammatical errors and includes very little basic information about the location and nature of Pyrford as it currently exists. I regard it as both inadequate and unrepresentative of even a standard Wiki article.
Firstly, facts within the article need to be screened, amended and regularised. Also additions are necessary that assist in identifying Pyrford in a modern light. I will start attempting this shortly.
Secondly, meaningful illustrations must be added to give some authentication to such a long article on a small village. I can provide these, within the public domain.
Thirdly, it needs a capable Wiki editor to shape the article and give it a genuine Wikipedia structure - while at the same time monitoring its progress until the job is complete. This will also mean keeping the article in perspective: Pyrford is merely one of many villages within the Borough of Woking (population circa 90,000).

History section removed January 2008
[edit]Wikimedia has received a notification from Pyrford Press that the History section of this article is a copyright violation of their "Brief History of Pyrford" page.[1]
It seems that it was added wholesale by User:Sharak on June 9 2006.[2]
The Wayback Machine clearly shows Pyrford Press as having that content on their website prior to this - their version from December 14 2005 is here.
Accordingly, I have removed this section. --Stormie (talk) 06:12, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Now that the sub-standard content has been removed by --Stormie (talk) I am resuming my interest and participation in contributing to this article. First have come those Pyrford images already registered with Wikipedia, and also a refinement of the basic textual content of the article so that it accords more with local village interpretation and parlance. Any prospective contributors or editors who are not long-term residents of Pyrford may care to contact me before inserting any significant content, in order that I can advise them whether any of their proposals need modifying so as to reflect local knowledge and detailed accuracy.
