Quarto (Latin and Italian for "fourth") could refer to:

[edit]

As clarified by WP:MoSDab, the wording about the meaning of "quarto" in Italian, which i removed from near the start of the accompanying Dab page, simply has no valid place on this (or probably any) Dab page.

   On the other hand,

... in which four leaves of a book are created from a printer's standard size sheet of paper...

may also be useful in the article Quarto or others concerned with the printing, publishing, or collecting of books.

Along those lines i settled, in detail, on
A quarto is a book whose production entails printing 4 (generally non-consecutive) pages per impression.
Those terse wordings are less likely to be useful in an article, especially since i avoided mentioning the usual quarto situation (where another 4 pages almost always get printed in the second impression on the same, of course two-sided, sheet. My opinion is that on the Dab page, the user is helped by at least quieting any anxiety about why the "four"-connoting word "quarto" is getting invoked there -- tho presumably it's productive for them to wait until they dive into info on their particular quarto-constructed book before facing e.g. two- vs. one-impression-per-sheet-printing (let alone two- to four-color printing).
